Welcome!! Happy Friday!
Zoe woke up ready to learn and got all of our home study done before 9am!! We did the Eureka math pages and some ST math. We continued with the 100 days of school theme and we counted to 100 a few times on this fun app we have! Then we counted the 100 gum balls that were on her shirt. Next she showed me her book she made of 100 things at school and we counted each page and discussed.
We moved that 100 theme to writing and we completed the 100 poem that was sent home from school and we read three Fancy Nancy books and saw that there is a Fancy Nancy 100 days of school book! We wrote it down to get from the library today!
We also did some sight word picture cards and some sight word Bob books!
Amazing Zoe! So proud! What a fun day- way to continue 100 theme!
We started our day with learning about Rabbits. We compared rabbits vs hares; rabbit life cycle; different types of rabbits, etc. Then both kids wrote down 3 facts we talked about together and then came up with a couple of their own. We then moved on to Eureka math sheets, a little time on ST Math, and then a fun math worksheet using 10 frames and choosing greater than or less than. After that we worked on directions (left, right, up, down) and made a map using directions. We finished our studies with reading Frog and Toad short chapter book, a living room dance party, and will be off to gymnastics this afternoon. We will also try to squeeze in a wooden rabbit painting decoration for fun creative time.
Another amazing homeschool day! Love the rabbit theme! Your day seemed chock full with learning, AWESOME!
Compteted his eureka math work sheet, and played st math. We read 4 of his just right books and then we went to the library. He picked out a book about elephants. We also found some BOB books and checked them out. After lunch we went on to letters, with writing and playing go fish. We also made a word wall in his room, with the sight words he knows and the ones that we are working on.
So proud of Parker! Your own word wall in your room? Way to go!! I’m so excited with all the work you are doing!!
Hudson did his math worksheet, then we made the newest site words into magnets to add to the ones on the fridge. He practiced those and incorporated them into sentences with the others. He also read 4 books in his book bag. He then put together his valentines for his classmates. He did chores then played Minecraft. Busy but fruitful day.
Yay for sight words on the fridge! Great day Hudson!!
We started with letter sounds and vowels on flashcards. Next we did some Eureka math sheets. Pearl wanted to draw outside on the porch with chalk I suggested sight words 30 + sight words later, we had fun :-) Then I read a book, and Pearl read to me.
Adorable homeschool day... 30 words later, love it!!
It was a fun weekend of learning! Not all "school stuff", but lots of other stuff too. Isabel completed her math worksheets that were sent home, read a few leveled books that she has from school, and did some sight word practice. We watched the opening ceremonies of the Olympics and as the countries walked in, it was fun to watch her and her brother hear the countries where our families originate from and cheer for those countries (Mexico, Germany, France, Sweden, and Malaysia--not where I'm from, just grew up there.). We looked those countries up on the globe again. Then played with rubber duckies that are dressed from other countries, and she made up her own math subtraction problems with her duckies. Yesterday her dad taught them some proper hammering techniques when hammering two pieces of wood together. Lots of fun was had this weekend! :)
Love your homeschool day- especially Olympics (watched opening ceremonies too, but missed Switzerland ☹️)and country knowledge. Fun stuff!
Cameron started with st math followed by sight word worksheets for the words up and two. He finished his Eureka math worksheets then we read the story a Great Day for Up. We continued to use the word tree sentences and he practiced writing letters and numbers.
For his learning experience we went to see Coyote Peterson/Brave Wilderness at Balboa Theater. For anyone who isn't familiar with Coyote Peterson he has a YouTube channel focusing on wildlife.. He brings awareness about different species ranging from turtles to creepy crawlers and how in many cases if you are afraid of certain animals that they will not harm you unless you seek them out..
Cameron says his favorite part about the evening was when they recapped on the episodes that Coyote Peterson tries new interesting fruits and foods depending on where they are filming around the world. Kind of a food challenge that doesn't always end well.
Now that sounds exciting- I want to take Zander to see that! Great day Cameron!!!
Ollie worked on his math in the morning and we read books before lunch. After lunch we hiked mission trails and talked about habitats, plants and animals.
After the hike Ollie did st math and worked with his sister while she did spelling city.
Now that’s an up close and personal way to learn about habitats- very cool!!
Olivia finished her math worksheets, wrote all of the site words, read her books from school, bob books and another book we borrowed from the library. She wrote a story about how excited she was for her party and then helped prepare the piñata and get rhings ready for the party.
We have been trying to get Kain on track with his alphabet letters and sounds. We thought it would be fun to switch it up so I bought an alphabet game. He had to match the picture with the letter and its sound. Then he did his math worksheets. We also made it a game to quiz each other well we were out kind of an eye spy but I would ask him what letter does gas station start with? What sound does it make and so on. Lastly he competed for the first time in BJJ. He did amazing. He gave it his all and we are so proud of him.
We went to the science museum and stayed half the day, I cant even wrap my had around all the cool things she learned. Throughout the weekend we did st math, addressed our valetines and made our valentines box.
We had a FULL weekend of fun learning! We did "basketball math"; Caleb kept track of how many baskets he got while we played and then added up the total based on what the baskets were worth that round (ex. 5 baskets each worth 3 points). Then we read our Highlights magazine together. He read the stories he could and I helped with the others. We did the math pages sent home. Caleb helped dad set up the tent and learned all about tent safety and camping; they slept in the tent in the backyard. We played the "animal game" by describing different animals and habitats and trying to guess what animal it was. Lastly, we did a children's museum field trip day.
Cash spent the day working in the garden with his dad and building a fort with his brother. Then they did ST math, math worksheets, reading from level books and he wrote a story about planting in the garden.
We got her math done, Sadie did very well. She really is getting the hang of doing number bonds. We did a little gardening, planting sweet peas. After finishing some reading time, we headed up to Descanso area to look at the alpacas. They have this cute little farm up there where they show you how they make yarn from there fur.
Gage did his homework and schooling over the weekend instead of Friday. We finished the math packet and spent time on st math. He then spent time writing a story about Taking friends to the arcade. We didn't had storytime and played a memory game with our site word flashcards.
Abdullah had fun at the lake and feeding ducks. We learn different colors and shap of the leaves.
We read a lego book and built some towns. Jake worked on his math workbook pages and worked on his Valentine's. He really enjoys ST Math.
Write something about yourself. No need to be fancy, just an overview.
