Liv started her day by working on ST Math for half an hour and then we started an intro into analog clock/time reading. She did a couple of pages of Brain Quest worksheets with clocks and we practiced on a clock in the house. I was excited that after we did the lesson she decided to tell me y'all started a lesson in class too this week. ;) After math we moved on to creating more word families: -ap, -ag, -og, and -ig. She then read 20 mins with her brother out of her new Mouse Tales (level 2) reading book. It's a bit more for her but she doesn't push back or shy away from reading it. On our way to a playdate we talked about recycling as we passed a recycling center. The afternoon was finished by lots of outside playtime, Valentine box decorating, and gymnastics class.

Today we had a letter A theme. We started by reading The A Book, pointing to words he could recognize or sound out. He practiced writing his lower and upper case "A" as well as writing out a sentence on his own. We are still working on mastering the site words and continue to see great improvement in that area after working on them today and making sentences with them. He also did about 20 min of ST math before outside play time.

Since we are still playing catch up when it comes to sight words, I altered the writing and reading lessons today. We started with writing, we made flash cards of sight words, we first cut out the cards and Pearl wrote all 30 sight words, one on each card. Once the cards were finished we read all of them together. Next we played jump in puddles game with sight words. Pearl then played St math for 30 mins. Pearl then read a few of her Leveled Book A, books. We recycle constantly in our house :-)We watched some Youtube video's about what happens to recycling. https://youtu.be/VlRVPum9cp4

Today we did a math page of different number bonds and then 40 mins of ST math. He read many books with me and worked hard on sounding out new words. He wrote about what pet he would get if he could have any animal and then we had lots of PE time at the park with friends!

Mommy was out of town for the weekend so I "assigned" Bob book reading with her Ita (my mom), writing a letter to her Uncle who lives in Alaska, some ST Math time. Her grandparents took them to Chuck E. Cheese and had them count their tickets and figure out what they could "buy" and how many tickets would be left over. She learnedhow to read a map (a zoo map with dad!), what a key is, and she had to figure out how to get from one place to another on her zoo map, and trying to find the shortest route. She also had some great learning from Daddy when they made a campfire dinner. Learning safety around fire, how to be a part of team with putting the campfire together and she had SO MUCH fun with all of it!

Kain has been really sick in bed with the flu. Unfortunately we were unable to do anything. He is feeling like himself today (Sunday) so we are going to attempt some ST math, reading, and letter recognition and sounds worksheets. They are great ones I purchased from teachers pay teachers if anyone would like to use them let me know. I would be happy to email them😉

Cameron started his day with st math, we reviewed some number bonds, number recognition and practiced writing numbers.. We also played go fish. He did his sight word sentence in his composition book and we practiced sight word trees (You, You and, You and I, You and I will, You and I will look, You and I will look funny..) We also did science with his brother. This time we did 4 experiments converting energy; his favorite was putting baking soda in a baggie with vinegar on the opposite side you make sure all the air is out of the baggie then seal it, mix the vinegar and baking soda which causes a chemical reaction of gas which blows up the baggie with air and causes the liquid to become cold..

Sadie worked on her reading. We also worked on math as well. She had her friend Olivia over and Audrey had her friend Sasha and Dominic. Together they worked on decorating their Valentines day boxes. We did more reading over the weekend and we also went to the art museum to learn about Frida...might be a good artist to do in a project in the future.

Friday we did some reading together and Caleb made a "book" by writing on a few blank pages and then stapling them together. It included the new sight words. He played teacher with his brother too and was teaching him about letters and sounds. super cute actually! Then we did about 45 mins of ST math (he loves it). We attended a conference this weekend and did a couple different arts and craft things as well.
