Welcome!! Happy Friday!
Lots of kids expressed that they tried Raz kids (Reading A-Z) this week! Way to go!
Aren't you so impressed with how wonderful they are reading? So proud of them! Keep up the great work!! :)
On Friday momma was still feeling under the weather so we kept the day easy. Olivia started with sight words & practiced writing them out 3 times each. After that she focused on her Math worksheets and some ST Math. For reading she logged into RAZ kids and read a couple of books. She was so excited to have her login access at home! Thank you Ms. Candia! In the afternoon Olivia was very anxious to continue her research on bats so I turned on Kiddle.com and let her navigate the sites on bats. She wrote down 4 facts she learned. Liv finished her day with ice skating with her dad & brother and then off to her 30 min. ice skating class.
Isabel did some reading on RAZ kids and read a leveled book also. She completed her math worksheets and also practiced sight words. We had a fun play date, which was followed by learning about another country...Japan! We located it on the map, what the flag looks like, learned how to say "thank you", and learned a little origami, which has now inspired a new love of paper folding! ;o) I think we'll be getting a kids origami book! We had a Japanese dinner of making our own sushi and udon noodle soup!
So fun!!! I love the sushi and oragami!!
Zoe started by reading me several books on Raz Kids! She loves the song books and trying all different types. We did the quizzes for those too and read the questions together. We discussed the difference of opinon verses fact.
Zoe did her math worksheets and a few others. She helped me to bake some muffins and we talked about measuring cups and spoons. We also went to the math night Thursday night and did some more directed drawing and estimating throughout the weekend.
We also had some friends over on Friday and Zoe wrote a letter to each person who came :)
On Saturday she went to the wild animal park and saw the butterflies! Maybe we will read or write about butterflies next week!
Gage did so well with his homework over Friday and Sunday. He finished up jos math worksheet then practiced counting to 100. That was too easy so we indecided to say numbers ranging from 1-100 and he had to write them down. That too was super easy so it looks like I need to find some new fun math stuff for us to do. He spent time on ST math and tax kids. On Sunday evening we practiced with writing. We focused on sight words and sounded out small words like cat dog mom dad etc.
Joshua continues to be an excellent student for me at home on Fridays! This week we did his math worksheet, practiced county by 10, and did a few worksheets on comparing numbers. For writing we practiced our name and address and then wrote a happy birthday card to our cousin Renée. We read a few books and then a few more on raz kids. We did a little ST math. We continue to work on cutting, and improving our writing skills. I can see lots of improvements and lots of areas where we need to continue to work. Have a great weekend
Olivia finished the math packet, practiced sight words, read books and wrote menus for a restaurant she made for her dolls.
She also red some Raz kids books.
Completed his math worksheets. Read a few books from raz kids and completed the quizzes. He drew out and colored his animal page. We also did some more research on bats.
Oliver did his math sheets, st math and then wrote out and practiced his sight words. He also read his books and worked with his sister on her leprechaun project. Later in the day we explored mission bay and talked about the different types of fish.
Cash LOVED doing RAZ kids this weekend, additionally he did reading from level books and some fun books. Cash wrote a story about our trip to Idylwild to see the snow (mildly successful) which the boys were VERY impressed with. Cash did some research on penguins and puffins in his Nat Geo Kids magazine and did some writing related to this. We built our Leprechaun trap in the afternoon and had fun playing at the park later.
We started the morning on Friday talking all about the math night and practiced making more super hero characters from shapes. Then we did the math sheets. Caleb was so excited to show me Raz kids so we spent some time there too! And we did some reading from our highlights magazine. We researched up what reptiles don't lay eggs too!
Bryce did his math packet and lots of ST Math. He enjoyed RAZ kids and we practiced sight words. He also wanted to write about the sun. I tried to help him but he insisted on working on his own so I'm not sure how accurate his facts are :) but I was proud of him for wanting to be independent.
Oliver finished his Math packet, did some RAZ kids reading, and brainstormed different homophones. He also got a guinea pig, so he researched what they eat and how to take care of them. Finally, we read to him for 15 minutes each night.
We did our math homework and reading. Sadie is loving RA-Z kids. She is also doing really great at ST Math. We are coving a badge in Girl scouts this week about celebrating community so we got into learning about our state bird, animal, tree and flower. We also sang some of our nations songs and are starting to learn about our history as a country.
We started the day off a with a hike, we di Kwasny past peak at mission trails and stopped to read all the signs and learned about local habitats and spotted tons of animals, love thisbhike because of all the info for the kids. Then we ran some errands and helped big sister with her science project. When we got home we did st math and razz kids and did our math sheets on Sunday :)
Again we've been sticking to the basics of the math worksheets, st math and razz kids! Cameron reads a couple of stories each time his logged in and he's enjoying building his rocket and robot!
Hudson started with Raz kids and read a couple books. He did his math homework, then we moved on to sight words. We updated our fridge magnets with all the new sight words and practiced with the dry erase board writing them and working them into sentences. After lunch we worked as a family on brothers leprechaun trap. They got very into it as it’s the first one we’ve ever made. Hudson also started an official rock collection, so he enjoyed hunting and digging in the yard that afternoon.
For Friday this week, we did the math packet, worked on sight words, read Peter Rabbit, and saw the new Peter Rabbit movie! After the movie, I asked them to compare and contrast the book and the movie. Noelle had piano. Caleb was not feeling well... Ready for the illnesses to be over!
Mom and Dad were sick so we missed math night! :( We did a lot of reading and cuddling. We walked to the park. Jake did some math pages from his workbooks.
Saturday afternoon we drove to Anaheim to see Walk Off The Earth in concert at the House of Blues. The show didn't start until 9 pm but Jake rallyed and enjoyed the show. He fell asleep on Mama about 3 songs before the end and they played a 2 hour set. If you haven't heard of them check out of their youtube videos. The kids really enjoy them.
Kain worked on math worksheets that were sent home. Then he also practiced on a few counting to 50 fill in the blank worksheets. We read some just right books and just relaxed. He is sick AGAIN 😔
Write something about yourself. No need to be fancy, just an overview.
